Vintage Halloween

Here are some decorations from Halloweens past. 60's - 70's era.
Notice they aren't too terribly scary, but more endearing & whimsical. Enjoy!

Fall Foliage

Yes indeed, this is my favorite time of year!  The rich autumn colors are just too good to be true!  And there's nothing quite like seeing the trees when the sun is out to light the colors on fire! I have sweet childhood memories of my parents taking us on a drive up into the mountain every year to enjoy the fall foliage. Pennsylvania has provided a perfect opportunity to appreciate the changing of the seasons.

Isn't this an ideal time of year to marvel at God's glorious creativity?

Hurricane Sandy

"The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms..." Deut 33:27

Continuing to pray for those on the East Coast
who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
With appreciation to all First Responders:
Fire Fighters, Police, Emergency Medical Services,
and also to those, including Electric Co. Personnel,
who work to recover, restore, and clean up in the aftermath.

The Pothole Gardener

Lovely miniature gardens have been sprouting up on dismal city streets!
Steve Wheen has been at work in LondonMilan and New York City.
He creatively transforms something as gloomy as a pothole into a delightful
object d’art, bringing smiles to the faces of those lucky enough to stroll by.

Steve's philanthropic efforts are all for the enjoyment of others!
Gotta love that. He has become known as "The Pothole Gardener".
You could say that Steve sees his cup (or pothole!) as half full!

I'd love to hear what you think!

Marvelous Mustard

A big color this autumn is Mustard. Lucky for me; I love it! It coordinates wonderfully with my favorite earth tones and sages. I also like to see it paired with eggplant!
Rich, tailored, classic.

Here's a selection of mustard "condiments", whether spicy, honey or dijon.
Let me know what you think!

Pumpkin Carving - Villafane Style

Ray Villafane's incredibly carved pumpkins have taken on a cult-like following.
Among other accomplishments, he has carved at the White House, and has
won the Food Network's Outrageous Pumpkins Challenge two years in a row.
It's no surprise that he is also a master at sand sculpting.

Ray has been referred to as the best pumpkin carver in the world!
Check out these photos. I'm sure you'll agree!

Ok, it's time to carve our pumpkins! Talk about a tough act to follow!

Space Shuttle Endeavor

Recently, the retired Space Shuttle Endeavor was transported from
Los Angeles Airport through the town of Inglewood, CA,
to its new home at the California Science Center.
It took 3 days to cover this 12 mile trail.

Can you imaging seeing that monstrosity ride through your neighborhood?
Never to be forgotten.
The shuttle is being stored in a pavilion as it waits
for the completion of the Center's permanent exhibit.

Enjoy this terrific time-lapse video,

Peddler’s Village

One of my top favorite places to visit is Peddler’s Village! It’s located in the picturesque countryside of Bucks County, PA, in Lahaska. It isn't merely a place to shop; it’s an adventure, an experience!
Quaint little shops are set along gorgeously landscaped gardens and pathways. Such a delightful place to stroll and explore, with each corner turned more charming than the next!
You'll also find delectable restaurants and the lovely Golden Plough Inn. Seasonal events include the Strawberry Festival, the Quilt Competition and Display, and the popular Scarecrow Competition.
Learn more at their website: http://www.peddlersvillage.com.
I’d like to share some photos with you! Let me know what you think!
Perfect outing for my hubby and me!

The enchanting gazebo is a favorite of mine!

Blogging at My Paisley World

Not long after I began to read & enjoy a few blogs,
thoughts and  ideas that I wanted to share kept coming to mind.
The gears started to turn and "My Paisley World" became a reality!

Zebedee Linocut Prints

It all stemmed from my need to slow down,
to take a step back, and to learn to appreciate all the little things around me.
Wouldn't you agree that these little things often turn out to be the big things?

Here is a list of words (verbs, really) that illustrate my plan to do just this:
Observe
Treasure
Ponder
Cherish
Appreciate
Savor
Examine
Contemplate
Admire
Celebrate

I invite you to join me as I share what's on my mind and in my heart.
I want to know what you think, and how you can relate.

Let's each set a goal toward a more peaceful, relaxed, contented ME!
