Our Visit to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens

magicgardens1

Isaiah Zagar is the artist responsible for covering a half-block of South Street
in Philadelphia, PA with a mosaic creation like no other.
Part indoor gallery and part outside sculpture garden, it totals 3,000 square feet.
Tiles, statuary, mirrors, glass bottles, vases, bicycle wheels, plates, pottery.
Over a period of 14 years, Isaiah dug down and built up, making stairways
and tunnels through this little world of art that was fascinating to explore.
We were set for an adventure and that's just what we got!

Located at 1020 South Street, the Magic Gardens can be partially seen by passers-by,
but is sectioned off by this wall and ornamental iron gates.
You may have noticed it as you've walked or driven by - hard to miss!

Natalie Wargin’s Gorgeous, Bold Watercolors

Natalie Wargin finds inspiration for her watercolors
as she explores the beautiful Hudson River Valley of her New York home.

She's a multi-faceted artist, expressing her creative talents through
embroidery, paper mache, sewing, and quilting, in addition to painting.

I'm really drawn to her bold colors and to the way she fills her frames with life!
She adds sweet surprises like the grasshopper above,
and the honey bees or frogs below.
Enjoy the watercolor world of Natalie Wargin!

Wonderful jack-in-the-pulpit!

Visiting the Wilbur Chocolate Company in Lititz, PA

wilbur1

We rounded off a terrific day of shopping at lunching in Lititz, PA
with a visit to the Wilbur Chocolate Company!
Home of the famous Wilbur Buds®,
this candy store and museum is located at 48 N. Broad Street.

We did the self-guided tour of the museum.

How interesting to see antique candy-making tools -
oversize copper bowls, paddles, ladles
and most of all, the old chocolate molds.
Wilbur has been making chocolate since 1884!

Christian Hymn Art by Little Things Studio

I was so happy to see this lovely art by Kate Whitley of Little Things Studio!
Kate, from Nashville, TN, uses the lyrics from well-known Christian hymns.
She prints them out with her stellar typography,
and then doodles and sketches all around to create
wonderful, eye-catching wall art and calendars!

Kate has also done Scripture verses like this one~

...and quotes like these~
